Job Description
The Audit Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the overall internal audit approach and plan covering Basel II Implementation efforts. The Audit Manager will:
- Build and manage the audit plan and approach to cover the Bank's advanced systems and implementation activities to achieve compliance with regulatory requirements
- Plan and conduct audits for Basel II implementation activities. Coverage includes monitoring implementation timelines and deliverables, maintaining detailed knowledge of implementation effors, and drafting audit committee updates. Broad knowledge of bank activities will asist the candidate in facilitating cross-functional and change initiative audting across the enterprise.
- Provide expertise, advice and counsel based on advanced business and/or audit experience to a complex business and/or across several business groups
- Lead comprehensive audits of enterprise-wide risk management practices by evaluating, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of controls supporting the Bank's advanced systems and capital adequacy framework
- Manage resources to provide continuous monitoring of line of business projects/change initiatives
- Track and monitor issues across a matrix organization to identify enterprise level trends
- Coordinate across a matrix organization to ensure adequate coverage of key deliverables
Contribute to the development, implementation and communication of Audit's mission, goals and strategies.
- Develop working relationships with business partners and interact with regulatory agencies, external consultants and other internal risk management groups.
Skills
Requirements:
8+ years of relevant audit experience within the financial services industry and proven record of career progression
Candidates should have strong managerial and leadership skills and be able to manage/mentor staff
Bachelor degree required; advanced degrees and industry certifications preferred (CFA, CPA, MBA)
Strong working knowledge of Basel II rules and regulations
Background in credit risk, data governance requirements, and/or modeling and statistical analysis a plus.
