That Critical First Impression
Will Rogers once said “you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression!”
In case you hadn’t already figured it out, that DEFINITELY applies in an interview. Therefore, you have to go prepared.
Remember that a major part of an interview is:
- how you present yourself; and,
- the connection you establish with the interviewer.
Presenting yourself includes:
- Being on time for the interview – possibly even a few minutes early.
- Being dressed appropriately.
- Being prepared with appropriate responses to questions.
Attire:
Men:
- Even if you think (or even know) that the standard attire is Business Casual, wear a conservative business suit with the appropriate matching shirt and tie.
